Cheryl joined Sweet Adelines in 1979 and it immediately became a permanent life style change. As the saying goes “If it’s Tuesday this must be Chorus Rehearsal”. There is always something happening that just can’t be missed. If everyone could sing like this there would be a lot less need for mental therapy sessions. It is very uplifting and I think our members feel a great sense of accomplishment in the successes we have achieved together. We are always growing and improving. My particular focus has been on improving the individual singer, which in turn improves the sound of the chorus. Performing is a wonderful way for each individual to become a more self –confident person. Of course the friendships and all the fun we have together are the topping to this wonderful concoction. Cheryl comes from a family of creative, musical people. Stan (husband of 43 years) is a member of the Pride of Iowa men’s chorus and together they have 4 grown children, 4 growing grandchildren and share a love of friends, home, gardening, golf and Cheryl’s cooking. |

Diana discovered Sweet Adelines in 1977, and it was the answer to a lifelong dream. She's sure she was singing as she exited the womb...no doubt quite a scare for her mother! She's had the joy of singing with several quartets. Sunshine Music Company, four time Regional Quartet Champs, Midnight Express, Rendezvous, and her current quartet, Starfire! She's sung at International Competition 4 times with the chorus and 4 times in a quartet. It's an awesome experience that she hopes to repeat sometime soon. For Diana, being a mom and a grandma is the only thing that can top Sweet Adelines. Grandson Lucas and granddaughter Frances are her delight. Her husband, Richard, has been her best supporter and loves going to competition as much as she does. "Harmonize the World" is more than a slogan to Diana. It's her passion! She welcomes you to "Come find your passion in the excitement of singing with Harmony Central! You'll love it, too!" |
